Live-Out Boarding House Supervisor – January 2023

Nelson College for Girls Boarding Hostel, CJ House, is home away from home for many students, offering a warm caring fun environment whereby the students are encouraged and given opportunities to grow in confidence and independence. Our culture and environment foster the students to build lifetime friendships.

The Boarding Hostel has capacity for 120 students aged from year 7 to 13. We have dedicated Boarding House Supervisors who work split shifts providing our students with wonderful care. The hours for this role will be as follows.

  • Wednesday and Thursday – 5.30pm - 9.30pm

  • Saturday - 10am – 6pm.

This role is for the term time only, there may be the opportunity to work some hours in the holiday period.

Term time is busy with the buzz of students. To be successful in this position you need to be an effective communicator, able to listen and be empathic, while still maintaining a high level of oversight in our wonderful students. You will need to have a good understanding and tolerance of modern teenage girls, be able to recognise what’s fun and when behavior needs addressing. You will need to be an energetic, enthusiastic team player, able to work collaboratively and at the same time be able to work at ease independently, think on your feet and always ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students.
