Our Vision for Enhancement

The beautiful natural environment and historical elements of the Trafalgar St frontage area provide perfect building blocks from which we wish to create a truly stunning presentation of our school. Our vision is to reflect the blend of tradition, advancement, activity and quality unique to NCG in a contemporary, amenity-rich setting.

The natural amphitheatre contours fit well with the proposed horse-shoe terrace seating, facing an open-air event stage. Utility of the hall will be expanded by addition of a large deck, sized for outdoor teaching activities, and over-looking the stage. An expansive, sunny, paved courtyard with modern picnic style seating, student activities, and raised planters with edible gardens will complement the impressive Jean Stewart wing. The strength of our school’s tradition and pride is to be reflected by a new memorial garden and refreshing of the stone entrance way and gates, beneath “our tree”.

Recognised landscaping experts have crafted a concept plan to let us share our vision. Local businesses have already committed their support to components of the plan- Galbraith Group are providing surface coatings for the gates and entrance stonework. Following the initial presentation of the concept plan to stakeholder representatives, further development and progression was overwhelmingly endorsed. A small working group has been established to progress the project.

As the project moves forward, time-lines, costs and details will be developed. We request your support by sharing our exciting new vision, and encouraging contributions and commitments to help deliver a beautiful and beneficial outcome our students can be proud belongs to them.
